Pond covered with artificial grass
Many homes are rented out in the current housing market. But tenants often have special preferences and requirements. The cost of closing a pond is significant, so it doesn’t make sense to close a pond down temporarily. This landlord opted for a creative solution with artificial grass.
The pond is no longer visible, but below the artificial turf cover there is an 18,000-litre water tank. The temporary tenants have small children and felt that the deep pond was dangerous. This is why they asked the landlord to close the pond.
A wooden frame was built around the pond using beams with a distance of 40 cm in between them. Sheeting was mounted on the beams. The frame was finished on all sides with edge strips. The edge strips stick out by 1.5 cm from the top edge, which makes a frame in which the artificial grass was laid. The artificial grass can be laid loosely on the surface. This makes it easy to remove the artificial grass and disassemble the frame when the tenants leave. How is that for a clever solution? What’s more, the pond is now a lovely and clean place for the children to play.
