Landscape Solutions B.V. (Holland) was established in 2003 as a subsidiary of Ten Cate and the first European company to specialise exclusively in the development, production and marketing of natural-looking artificial turf systems for consumers, companies and government authorities. Now a days, Landscape Solutions is a well known international turf supplier. The goal of all of these activities is to provide a quality replica of natural grass without such drawbacks as mowing, watering and fertilising. Landscape Solutions markets these artificial turf systems under the name “Royal Grass®”, a clear indication of the superior quality of the products. By conducting continuous research into the effects of artificial grass on humans and the environment, we strive to increase the acceptance and use of artificial grass.
Landscape Solutions is a pioneer that has broken new ground in the development of the artificial turf market for private gardens, roof terraces and public landscaping, such as by installing artificial turf on greenbelts and roundabouts. These developments and uses have resulted in artificial grass becoming a more generally accepted product in the landscaping market. Our example has already been followed by many others in this market.
Since 2006 Landscape Solutions has been an independently operating turf supplier in which TenCate retains a minority interest. Landscape Solutions continues to be an innovation partner to TenCate in the development of artificial turf systems for private gardens and public landscaping. Landscape Solutions is currently active through its distribution network in more than 30 countries in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and South America.

Pioneering innovations from Landscape Solutions
- The first to use bi-coloured yarns combined in a single artificial grass product (2003)
- The use of dark brown, coated sand as filler to give the artificial turf as natural a shade and appearance as possible (2004)
- The development of the V-shaped fibre, inspired by nature. The fibres remain upright for a longer period of time, thanks to the V-shape and use of ‘backbone’. The V-shape is produced exclusively for LS by TenCate and a patent application has been submitted (2005).
- The use of root zones in the artificial grass products, so that the turf no longer requires a full layer of sand filler (2006).
- Combination of different shapes and widths of V-shaped fibres (2007).
- Artificial grass made of 100% polyethylene without a latex coating, making it fully recyclable and reusable for the production of artificial turf (2010/2011).

The production of Royal Grass® in Genemuiden (Holland) is subject to continuous quality control. During the tufting and after the coating procedure, the grass is inspected and tested carefully in accordance with the applicable standards for every artificial grass product.
